bad hair days

Laura has had her hair done, apparently it’s nice, but shall have to wait until the weekend to see.
Makes me anxious to get mine done now.
Laura is a hairdresser, so she says she is going to do mine soon. But I don’t know how I want it, so I keep putting it off, but I do want to get it cut. It just looks stupid now.

Laura wants mine like Pete from Fame Academy, and..I’m quite close to agreeing actually.

Virii, Virii, Virii

OK, So I haven’t run Norton AV in a month or so.
I’ve never had a virus before, and I’m very careful in what I download to make sure I don’t.
When I did contract MSBlaster & Welchia, I was sure to run the cleaning programs thoroughly to make sure that all traces were gone and that my firewall was appropriately configured and Windows was patched up to stop any further attacks.
I install Norton 2003 today, and run a full system scan, just in case..and the thing goes crazy!
I haven’t had a chance to see exactly what I have yet, but..check this out;

WindowBlinds

I remember installing a product a few years ago, called WindowBlinds.
It gave a total makeover of the look and feel inside of Windows. Was great, only problem was that it took up too much in the way of resources, at the time I think I was running an AMD 450mhz with 64mb RAM.

Well, now that I have a better spec I thought I would download it again, and what a treat it is. Running on this system it goes great, and looks great.
There are hundreds, if not thousands of downloadable skins from the web.
My favourite so far is one of the 7 that come pre-bundled with it, that gives it the look of a Mac OS. Even replicates the button functions, ie. the far left button at the top of each window closes the program, just like in MacOS.
Download it

Conclusion to Winamp 5

Well, it looks exactly the same as Winamp 2. Exactly the same.
But, there are subtle differences. Looks like there will be a lot of integration with Windows XP as it has support for “Desktop Alpha Blending”.
Also it carries CD Ripping support, everything else is bog standard, nothing new. But, it is a very early Alpha, only a few weeks into development.
Will definately see some major changes over the next few months.
Does anyone remember how long Winamp3 was in development? A long time, around a year I think. They didn’t half carry that one on, for what, in my opinion turned out to be an inferior product. But, hell.
Damn AOL for taking everything over.

Winamp 5

Hmm, just about to install Winamp 5 Alpha 1.
Didn’t like Winamp 3, installed it once, but went straight back to Winamp 2, I much prefer it.

Bring back the J button if you’re going to bring out new versions!
In Winamp 2, all you have to do was press J, then a few letters from the name of the song you wanted, highlight it and press enter, and it would play. This is what Winamp 3 was missing, and is what ruined it for me. The ease of use had gone. I’m sure there was something similar to the “J”ump function, but didn’t bother to explore to find it.
Just goes to show how change isn’t always good for a product.
Well, here goes..lets try out Winamp 5.

panda dreams

Mmmmm…Peanuts.
Parents gone to the cinema for the evening, planning to go to bed soon.
Watching South Park, episode 306, Sexual Harassment Panda. Brilliant.
Mmm..Laura is calling, had better go.

poor fwank :(

Heard the news a few minutes ago, that Frank Bruno has been sectioned at a Psychiatric Unit.
Poor guy. It takes a lot for that to be necessary. I should know.
I hope he’s going to be OK, he’s one of the people, you know, a bloody nice guy.

Well, I’m sure we’re all behind you Frank!

film 2000 and fwee

As blogged by Joecas, BBC News Online are currently looking for the worst film ever.

One springs straight to mind. It has to win, it just has to.
What Women Want
That film was absolutely atrocious. It seemed longer than three showings of Titanic, and as interesting as an Attenborough Wildlife Special.
I had respect for Mel Gibson, until that movie.
What happened to the warrior Braveheart? All the showing of asses turned him extremely gay, and..he’s never recovered. Not been in a good movie since.
Poor Mel.

ysgol

A school not far from me doesn’t seem to have much luck with it’s bus service;

hyper view

Samsung have a great application on their website for previewing mobile phones. Using a plug-in you can zoom in, out, change views etc. and put it into “Hyper View” which makes it jump out of the browser like in the above picture, all very impressive.
