Winamp 5 beta 2 is out, and guess what..It’s looking pretty shit hot.
They’ve bundled in with it a sample skin for the new “Modern Skins” sytem that they are starting to use (this beta can use both old version skins and new version skins), and I have to say, it’s pretty amazing.
Winamp started playing Videos back in Winamp 2, with a plugin (and later this plugin was to be part of the normal install), but it was always quite bad, detached from the main window and basically looked a mess.
Now, Winamp 5 is a pleasure to watch videos in, and I have added my entire music video collection to it, running alongside (on random) with my normal MP3’s.
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again.
I love Winamp 2. I hate Winamp 3. But Winamp 5 is amazing, especially as it’s still only it beta stage, every beta comes up with new things. I thought beta 1 was good, 2 is brilliant. Get it.

Did I forget to mention how much I absolutely adore the new Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance, Le Mále.
Laura bought it for my birthday, I wear it everywhere, will need a new bottle soon!

Ok, here is my first video blog post! Interesting..
Only press Play if you are on Broadband (128k or up), else you’ll be waiting ages for it to load. It’s a 3.49mb file, but it’ll start playing as soon as it has only a little bit downloaded and download the rest whilst it’s playing.

All this talk of Broadband Plus has got me thinking, what if I were to do a video blog?
I recently bought a DV camera, upload is quick and efficient using Firewire, and the files aren’t huge (a mb per 2 minutes or so at medium Windows Media quality).
Watch this space !

Have been using the new service for NTL Broadband customers this week, and I have to say it is pretty good, it’s only in Beta Testing at the moment and have access as an am employee so don’t ask how to access it
Basically, you get full access to currently 16 sites which you usually have to pay for seperately. Apparently if you paid for them all seperately, you’d pay £34.97 a month, which, reading the sites seems to be about right.
The sites include VidZone.tv, for music videos.
Freeloader.com for game downloads (tend to be old games, like Grand Theft Auto 2, but..hell, its free isnt it?)
Video.tv and more, it’s all great broadband content and with the excellent speeds of NTL 1mb, Broadband is looking better than ever
I have some screenshots kiddies, don’t fret!
I hope you like my taste in music
This is the BBPlus Main page, with VidZone.tv in the background (playing the Distillers). VidZone is quite cool, has mostly new, pop songs, but has quite a few older artists, ie. Sting, Simply Red, Aerosmith and also has a range of Alternative bands, like Muse, The Distillers, Red Hot Chili Peppers etc.
The playlist fuction is great, just select a load of songs from the list on the left, click them and it’ll add to a playlist which will run seamlessly Your own MTV.

What a week.
Just to let you know, that post made yesterday, a few vodka’s was an understatement, I was absolutely hammered. 10 Double vodka and coke, I’m extremely surprised I managed to spell everything pretty well!
Not very coherant sentencing, but, hell, what do you expect.
I haven’t been home in days, have been at Lauras every night (except friday ) since Tuesday, so am now longing to get back onto my computer My wireless bits came, and spent 20 minutes playing with them on Friday, but obviously I went out so didn’t get very long to experiment with them, work’s well though, can use the internet, wirelessly up to the end of my garden at least. (I have 2 300m cards, so can go up to 300metres from the computer).
Laura did ask me to go out tonight as one of her friends boyfriends are playing at Barfly in town tonight, but I really don’t feel like going, this pissed Laura off, so..sorry
I believe that the key to blogging success is a good knowledge of the internet, which you quite obviously can't have without a broadband connection. So the first step would be to do some broadband price comparison to make sure you get the best broadband deal you can. Another good thing about most providers is that they'll accept monthly debits from most cards, including the Argos MasterCard, which was good news for my Post Office savings account, as it meant I didn't have to mess about with any extra paperwork.
