Server Problems (2)

As you may have noticed, it’s been just one problem after another with this new server.
After everything was updated, transferred and working well, the MIME types seemed to change themselves today, which basically means that when accessing the website, the site was asking you to download the front page rather than view it, which was rather annoying seeing as at work I cannot access the server to change it. Argh.

Coupled with that, I seem to have not correctly configured the email server, so it was dropping all my email, sending back “undeliverable” messages to everyone. Great.

The site seems to be sorted out and loading ok now, but for how long?
Need to spend some time tonight sorting everything out, argh.

Server Problems

As you may have noticed, for the last 24hours I’ve been having a few server problems.

I’m trying to move the site over to a new, dedicated server, but things are going to plan and a lot of re-organisation of the site is required.
All the files have been tranferred to the new server, but because I am organising it in a different way, a lot of recoding is having to be done.
I did try to switch hintofsarcasm.com over to the new system yesterday at around 2am, but when it became live it was almost totally dead.

I’ve considered transferring it back to the old server, but decided that by the time it is back on there, I could have the new one up and running, so for now, the site is pointing to a sub-directory of LifeEtc, on the old server.
Pictures and some sections may not work, please accept my apologies, I intend to have this sorted out as soon as I can.

Update: all seems to fixed now, have moved over to the dedicated server successfully, if you do notice any errors, please mail me. errors@hintofsarcasm.com

Saddam Hussein arrested in Iraq

“Ladies and gentlemen, we got him,” Paul Bremer said at a news conference in the capital, Baghdad, prompting loud cheers from Iraqis in the audience.

If this is true, the next few weeks/months should be very interesting indeed.
He’ll obviously be put on trial at the war crimes tribunal, or something similar…we’re in for a newsworthy few months people.

Constructor

I was shown an amazing site this morning by Stitch,
It’s called “SodaConstructor”.
Basically you make wireframe models and they move around however you construct them to, hours of fun.

the tiredness

Spent the night setting up a server for Cartmanland.net to serve it’s South Park episodes from, was a bit of a job, but we got there. Are now testing it with the latest new episode to be aired on Comedy Central, “Raisins”.

We shall see how the server fairs, hopefully it wont overload. (I’m sure it won’t).
Hmm, it’s 3am.

Laura is away in London this weekend doing christmas shopping, I can just imagine what she’s going to come back with (I’d imagine it to be a large part of Greater London).

Hmm..now to go and get something to eat before bed-time. Peanut butter on toast methinks.
Jesus, this post is even boring me.

Last night was disgusting, it just rained and rained and rained.

Found this photo on my phone though, don’t know why I took it, but it’s me with some guy in the toilets at Gretskys (in the Ice Rink). I drank a hell of a lot, but, whats new. Vodka and Dandilion & Burdock, yuck. Especially when the D&B is flat.
