Finally, Ringleader of the Tormentors, the long awaited new album from Morrissey has fallen onto my doormat.
Courtesy of HMV it arrived this morning, the release day, first thing.
Obviously I haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet as I picked it up off the mat whilst rushing out to work, but it is being imported to my iPod as we speak.
The debut single, You have killed me, charted at #3 in the UK yesterday, which isn’t too bad, though it could have gotten to #1 if it hadn’t been for that stupid song, Crazy, or something, which got to the top of the charts on downloads alone. Quite obviously a fix.
I had already heard the first three tracks from the album, as they had been leaked, but, I abstained from listening to the others, all of which were readily available on the internet in various forms (including a full official playing on myspace), for reasons which I convinced myself were valid, sound quality, etc.
I don’t think I’ve ever been so eager to make the trip home on the bus.
