Open letter to Starbucks

Subject: Eggnog

To whom it may concern,

Why why why are Starbucks not selling eggnog latte this year? It is as much a part of the festive season as Santa or Jesus for many people.

I received the email telling me that ‘The red cups are here’ but when I walked into my local store there was no sign of the familiar yellow cartons labelled ‘eggnog’. With the state of the world this year I thought that Starbucks could at least be trusted to bring some cheer to this festive season.

With disappointment,

Nathan Collins.

Reply from Starbucks received 20/11/2008:

Dear Mr Collins

Thank you for taking the time to contact Starbucks Coffee Company.

I am sorry to learn of your disappointment that eggnog is not currently part of our Christmas range this year. You will be delighted to know that eggnog will be available for a limited time in December in all stores. Egg nog will be in store on the first of December.

We look forward to welcoming you into a store soon.

Yours sincerely

  1. More proof that Starbucks does not sell to people who like coffee, but rather: that they sell to people who don’t like coffee, but think they do as they wolf down their bucket of pumpkin-pie flavored Cool Whip…

  2. Most of us already started using a glue stick, pasting the Santa’s picture on to the paper, etc…for writing letters from Santa for our friends. But this post gave nice idea, that is we can also post our letters through websites. Thanks for the idea!!

  3. I certainly would classify myself as a total coffee tourist. I certainly don’t think that I am in any way a conosseur and don’t pretend to be.

This was a very tongue in cheek email to Starbucks and should be taken as such, although I do love eggnog latte and am glad that they are bringing it back this year, though it wouldn’t have been the end of the world if they hadn’t.

  4. Sweet. I live sixty miles, which equates to a two hour train ride in somewhere this out of the way, from my nearest Starbucks.. I eagerly bounded in expecting eggnog stuff to be on sale on Thursday and found none. Tell you what though, the black cherry mocha they’re doing is LUSH, tastes like black forest and tiramisu all in one :)

  5. Dear Sir,
Starbucks food and drinks are great and I like to find out how one can open a Starbucks outlet (Franchise) in a country where there is no starbucks at
all. If Iam the first person to open one, will they train people to maintain the same standard and how do I proceed with this Idea. I will be grateful to you if you could kindly put me to the correct dept to disscuss the above.

    Thanking you,
    yours sincerely,

    U.Tissera.
