Illness is a crappy thing.
I’m sure you don’t want to know the exact details, but don’t expect any blog posts for a few days.
I’m not very well.
Food poisoning, possibly? That’s the only explaination I can think of.

It’s about that time of year again.
Nevermind the switching on the town christmas lights, the coming of cold weather and the savage hunt to find the hat and gloves that have invariably been pushed as far to the back of the cupboard as possible.
You can tell because it’s time for Starbucks to break out their red, snowflake emblazened cups and fill them with Coffee and a substance that, although I have very little idea of what it is, is damn addictive.
Albeit rather sickly, it is still highly addictive.

I am of course talking about the infamous ‘Eggnog Latte’
It’s a phenomenon like the ‘Strawberries & Cream’ drink that they used to bundle out every summer, before it became a permanent menu item, nobody knows where it comes from, but when it’s time, it comes. Almost as if it just knows.

Whilst reading the free MEN light newpaper this Thursday i was shocked and ashamed to discover that David Cameron (possibly the next Tory leader) is a self proclaimed Smiths Fan.

The paper was asking both David Cameron and David Davis what they knew about Manchester and where they have been. Cameron stated that he had been to Salford, so he could go and pose outside Salford Lads club!

Can this be true? Or just more political propoganda?
It has to be said though, Cameron has been putting himself out there as the ‘younger, hipper’ candidate, compared to his rival that dinosaur David Davis.

The title of the new Morrissey album, to be released in 2006 and the tracklisting has been released.

True-to-you.net, website of the great Morrissey fanzine are reporting that it is to be called ‘Ringleader of the tormentors’. Usually, if True-to-you say it, then it is so. Plus, both .com and .co.uk domains for the title have been registered by Sanctuary Group, Morrissey’s record company.

The tracklisting is also apparently to be as follows;

BBC NEWS | US used white phosphorus in Iraq

Well, I finally got my speed upgrade from my cable provider, ntl, yesterday.
A free upgrade from 3mb to 10mb, not too shabby if I say so myself.

The speed of the download in the screenshot above is typical when downloading from reputable download sites, ie. mirror.ac.uk, but as with any connection, the download speed can only be as fast as the server can/is configured to go.

I have to say though, 23 minutes to download a 2.5gb Linux (DVD) Iso image is pretty good going!

Remember to observe the 2 minutes silence at 11am today, the eve of Armistice day.

We have to Stop Will Young.

The Pop Idol winner is about to make a career ending move by re-recording the classic Smiths’ song, ‘Heaven knows I’m miserable now’ as his shot at christmas No.1.

I picked up on this from Fridays’ Guardian, according to this article;

“He has been asked to record a Christmas song for Radio 2, which, being an obliging sort, he’s happy to do.”

“His publicist, one of the small retinue who are accompanying him on a day of TV and radio promotion, says, half-seriously, “What about Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now, by the Smiths?” He raises his eyebrows. “How does it go?” The publicist happens to have it on her iPod, which she hands over. Although, I have to admit, Will Young is the lesser of the many evils to have come out of the Pop Idol, X-Factor, Popstars, Fame Academy era, but still, I think it would a career mistake and a pop travesty if he were to cover this song.
